Chapter One - Before Dawn

Driand was not a writer, but this day would be different from the others. Driand lived in a modern, large home just outside the city, and he was much more affluent than most people in his society.

He lived alone.

Prologue

When Driand began his usual morning walk, he could not have known that soon he would become the second greatest storyteller of his generation. And how could he? He was not even a writer.

Countless miles away, Yamilly would write a story unlike any ever written during her lifetime. But not just yet. She felt compelled to write, but she almost could not overcome her anxiety, caused by not fully understanding the source of inspiration for her story. Yamilly could not quite recall if the inspiration for her story was a fading childhood memory or a dream, and this troubled her deeply.

Still, Yamilly was compelled to write. And soon she would undertand the source and meaning of her inspiration.

Driand and Yamilly would never meet, nor would they ever know about each other's writings, yet the stories they would write would intertwine and coincide from time to time, but not in the end.

Welcome

This blog is a writing game. It is a unique place where you can exercise your creative writing ability. You can be a contributing writer to this blogstory and have fun along the way, as you read how others shape this blogstory with you. You can also join the odyssey writers workshop as a contributing writer!

Here's the idea: this blog tells the story of an unlikely storyteller, and it works like a game (and an old game at that). One person writes a paragraph of the story. Then another person adds a new paragraph to the story, picking up where the previous person ended. Next a new person adds yet another paragraph to the story, continuing where the person before stopped, and so on. This is a fun way to practice creative writing, and share in the experience with others.

Let's just follow these guidelines (for the kids): please keep your comments under 200 words, and rated PG-13. Also, please allow at least 3 others to comment before you comment again. Other than that, let's have fun, and see where this goes...
